The to-do list handled.

Handyman Home Repairs · Baldwin County, Alabama

Most handyman home repair jobs on the Gulf Coast fall into a gap. We’ve often heard that a handyman won’t drive out for two hours of drywall work. The person who said they’d come never called back, or worse they did and then never showed. Laughing Gull Home Services, LLC handles handyman work across Baldwin County, AL, including:

  • small repairs
  • punch lists (honey-do lists)
  • the jobs Angi, Thumbtack, Task Rabbit, and others charge platform fees to schedule, and
  • the jobs bigger crews turn down.

Call (251) 536-GULL (4855) to book your service appointment. Same-day service appointments may be avaialable.

We’re based in Gulf Shores and work the whole county, and all beach communities through inland subdivisions.

Salt air and humidity do things to a house here that they don’t do farther north. Screws rust out. Trim swells and separates. Caulk lines fail a season or two early. A slider stops tracking because the hardware corroded, not because anything is bent. Those repairs sit on a list until they stop being small nuisances and turn into bigger repairs.

There are a lot of ways to book a handyman. The difference is the quality of work, and the experience you have along the way. At Laughing Gull Home Services, you get a written price before anything starts. Appointments get honored. No surprise line items at the end, and nobody is going to talk you into a project you didn’t call about.

Once you’ve worked with out team, you’ll see you can count on us again and again. Your home repairs and projects, the honey-do list you can never find time to get to. The repairs that are too small for a contractor and too important to keep ignoring.

There’s a whole category of work that falls between “I’ll get to it” and “I need a general contractor.” A door that won’t latch. Rotted trim at the base of a column. New plumbing fixtures or a ceiling fan to install, tv mounting so you can’t see the wires. That’s the lane we work in.

What we handle.

  • Punch lists & “honey do” lists
  • Move-in/move-out repairs
  • Airbnb | Vrbo Maintenance & Repairs
  • Estate & Seasonal Home Opening Service
  • Seasonal Home Maintenance & Repairs
  • Drywall repair & patching
  • Interior & exterior door repair and adjustment
  • Trim, molding & baseboard
  • Fixture replacement (lights, fans, faucets, hardware)

What we don't do.

We focus on small-to-midsize repairs, so we don’t take on full remodels, HVAC, major electrical panels, or new construction. If your project needs a specialist, we’ll tell you straight — and often we can point you to someone we trust.

What we don't take on

First and foremost, we’ll always be upfront about what we do and don’t do. We don’t do full kitchen or bath remodels, structural framing, or new construction. We don’t touch HVAC systems, electrical panels or service upgrades, or whole-house re-pipes. We aren’t roofers.

If your job turns out to be one of those, we’ll say so on the first visit and point you toward someone who specializes in that work. We’d rather lose the job than take one we shouldn’t have.

Who we work with

Year-round residents.

The list that never gets done. Most resident work is a half-day or full-day visit knocking out eight or ten items at once, which costs less per item than calling someone out three separate times.

Second-home and seasonal owners.

Your house sits closed up through the humid months, and closed-up houses on the coast develop problems quietly. We handle repairs while you’re away and send photos of what we did. If you want the closing and opening handled on a schedule, that’s covered under seasonal home prep.

Vacation rental owners and property managers.

Turnover damage, guest complaints, and the small failures that generate bad reviews. We work around booking calendars and can go straight to the unit when you’re out of state.

Not sure which bucket you’re in? Call (251) 536-GULL (4855) and describe the list.

How the job goes, start to finish

  1. We look at the job. You describe the list by phone or send photos. For anything unclear, we come out and see it.
  2. You get a written quote. Scope, price, and what’s not included, in writing, before work starts.
  3. We do the work. Same-week scheduling in most cases. We clean up after ourselves and show you what was done before we leave.

Licensed, insured, and accountable

Laughing Gull Home Services LLC is a licensed and insured Alabama business based in Gulf Shores. We carry liability coverage and will provide a certificate on request before we start. Property managers and HOA boards ask for that regularly and we’re used to producing it.

Where we work in Baldwin County

Gulf Shores is our local home base. We serve the full county and the surrounding coastal communities, including Orange Beach, Foley, Fort Morgan, Elberta, Bon Secour, Ono Island, and Perdido Key.

  • Gulf Shores: condos, beach houses, and resident punch lists from West Beach to Craft Farms
  • Orange Beach: high-rise units, rental turnover, and second-home repairs
  • Foley: year-round subdivisions and family homes off the tourism cycle
  • Elberta: rural properties and older housing stock
  • Lillian: waterfront and Perdido Bay homes
  • Robertsdale: inland residential and small acreage
  • Silverhill: established neighborhoods and outbuildings
  • Summerdale: growing residential corridor along Highway 59
  • Loxley: newer construction and interstate-corridor homes

Repairs are rarely the only thing a coastal house needs. If the cause is water, we also handle mold remediation and the repair work afterward, and we build and repair fences and gates that hold up to the harsh salt air.

Frequently Asked Questions

What counts as a small repair?

Anything from a single task to a full day’s list. There’s no job too small to call about. Most of our work runs between one hour and one full day, and several small items in one visit is the most common shape a job takes.

What don't you take on?

Remodels, structural work, new construction, HVAC, electrical panel work, re-pipes, and roofing. We’ll refer you out if that’s what you need.

How do quotes work?

You get a written price before work begins. We assess the job first, from photos or in person, then put the scope and the number in writing. You approve it before anything starts. You can get a quote immediately when you use our online booking system.

How soon can you come out?

Same-week scheduling in most cases, but give us a call and we can often get you scheduled for a same-day appointment. Storm season, June through November, runs tighter. After a named storm, demand spikes countywide and we triage.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. Licensed and insured for residential work in Alabama. We’ll send a certificate of insurance before the job if you or your HOA needs one.

Do you work on rentals and second homes?

Yes, and it’s a large share of what we do. We can access the property while you’re out of state, coordinate around a booking calendar, and send photo documentation of completed work.

Do you handle commercial work?

No, we do not do commercial work.
