Privacy Policy

Effective date: 06/01/2026

Last updated: 08/23/2026

Laughing Gull Home Services LLC (“Laughing Gull,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the website gullhs.com. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit our site, call us, book a job, or hire us for work at your property, how we use that information, and what choices you have.

We are a residential home services company based in Gulf Shores, Alabama. We are not in the data business. We collect customer information for one reason: to quote, schedule, perform, and follow up on work at your property.

If you have a question about anything in this policy, call (251) 536-GULL (4855) or write to us at the address at the bottom of this page.

Who this policy applies to

This policy applies to:

  • Visitors to gullhs.com
  • People who call, text, or email us
  • People who submit a form or request an estimate
  • Customers who book work through our online scheduling system
  • Property owners and property managers who hire us to work at a residence

This policy does not apply to third-party websites you may reach through links on our site. Those sites have their own privacy policies.

Information we collect

Information you give us directly

When you contact us or hire us, you may give us:

  • Contact information. Name, phone number, email address, mailing address.
  • Property information. Service address, property type (single-family home, condo, rental), unit number, building name, and details about the condition of the property or the problem you want fixed.
  • Job details. Descriptions of the work you want done, photos you send us, measurements, appliance or fixture model numbers, and notes about previous repairs.
  • Access information. Gate codes, lockbox codes, alarm codes, door codes, key location instructions, HOA or building check-in procedures, and the name of anyone authorized to let us in. Many of our customers live out of state, so we handle a lot of this. See “Property access credentials” below.
  • Scheduling information. Dates and times you are available, whether you will be on site, and how you want us to reach you.
  • Payment information. Processed by our payment provider. See “Payment information” below.
  • Anything else you choose to send. Including messages, insurance claim numbers, warranty documents, or correspondence with an HOA or property manager.

Information we collect automatically

When you visit gullhs.com, our systems and the third-party tools we use may automatically collect:

  • IP address and general location (typically city or region, not street address)
  • Browser type and version, device type, operating system, and screen size
  • Pages you viewed, how long you stayed, and what you clicked
  • The website or search that referred you to us
  • Date and time of your visit

This is collected through cookies and similar technologies. See “Cookies and tracking” below.

Information we receive from other sources

We may receive information about you from:

  • Our online booking and scheduling platform, when you book a job through it
  • Search engines and business listings, such as Google, when you find us through a listing or click a call button in a search result
  • Property managers, HOAs, real estate agents, and rental management companies who arrange work on an owner’s behalf
  • Insurance adjusters or restoration coordinators, when a job is tied to a claim [CLIENT: confirm whether you take insurance-referred work and communicate with adjusters]
  • Review platforms, when you leave a public review

Property access credentials

A large share of our customers are second-home and rental owners who are not on site when we work. That means we are often trusted with gate codes, lockbox codes, alarm codes, and key locations.

We treat access credentials as confidential. We use them only to reach the property to perform work you have authorized. We share them only with the technician assigned to your job. We do not publish them, sell them, or provide them to anyone outside our company except a subcontractor we have assigned to your job.

If you change a code, tell us and we will update our records. If you want us to delete a stored access code, call us and we will remove it.

How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Answer your call, text, email, or form submission
  • Prepare and send you a written quote before work begins
  • Schedule appointments and send confirmations and reminders
  • Reach the property and perform the work you authorized
  • Order parts and materials for your job
  • Bill you and process payment
  • Keep a service history so we know what we have already done at your property
  • Follow up on completed work, warranty questions, or callbacks
  • Send you seasonal service reminders, if you have asked to receive them
  • Respond to reviews, complaints, and disputes
  • Improve our website and understand which pages and services people are looking for
  • Meet our legal, tax, insurance, and licensing obligations
  • Prevent fraud and protect the security of our systems and our customers’ properties

We do not use your information to make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you.

Text messages

If you give us your mobile number, we may text you about your job — appointment confirmations, technician arrival windows, quote approvals, and follow-up questions.

We do not sell, rent, or share your mobile phone number or your text-message consent with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing purposes. Your consent to receive texts from us is not shared with anyone outside our company or the service providers who help us send those messages on our behalf.

Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to opt out. Reply HELP for help, or call us at (251) 536-GULL (4855).

Opting out of marketing or reminder texts does not stop transactional messages tied to a job you have already scheduled, unless you ask us to stop those too.

Phone calls

We may keep records of calls, including your number, the date and time, and notes about what you asked for.

Payment information

We do not store your full credit or debit card number on our own systems. Card payments are processed by a third-party payment provider that handles the card data directly under its own security standards and privacy policy.

We may keep a record of the transaction — amount, date, last four digits, and whether it succeeded — for accounting, warranty, and dispute purposes.

Cookies and tracking

Cookies are small files stored on your device. We use them to keep the site working properly, remember your preferences, and understand how people use the site.

Categories we may use:

  • Essential cookies. Required for the site to load and function. These cannot be turned off.
  • Analytics cookies. Tell us which pages people visit and how they arrived. [CLIENT: confirm whether Google Analytics is installed.]
  • Advertising cookies. Used to measure ad performance and show ads to people who have visited our site.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block essential cookies, parts of the site may not work.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” signal or a Global Privacy Control signal.

How we share your information

We share personal information only in these situations:

  • Service providers. Companies that help us run the business — our scheduling and booking platform, payment processor, accounting software, email and text messaging providers, and website host. They may use your information only to perform services for us.
  • Subcontractors and technicians. The people assigned to do the work at your property, who need your address, access details, and job description to do it.
  • Suppliers. When we need to order a part or material and the supplier needs a delivery address.
  • Property managers, HOAs, and building management. When they arranged the work, own the building, or must approve access.
  • Insurance carriers and adjusters. When you ask us to work with them on a claim.
  • Professional advisors. Our attorney, accountant, or insurer, when needed.
  • Legal requirements. When we are required to respond to a subpoena, court order, law enforcement request, or government inquiry, or when we need to protect our rights, safety, or property or that of others.
  • Business transfer. If the business is sold, merged, or reorganized, customer records may transfer as part of that transaction.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not rent or trade customer lists. We do not share your information with third parties for their own marketing.

Reviews and public content

If you post a review, comment, or photo on a public platform such as Google, that content is public and governed by that platform’s terms, not this policy. We may respond publicly. We may also ask your permission before using a review, photo, or project description in our own marketing — and we will not use one without asking.

How long we keep your information

We keep customer records as long as we need them to service the account, honor warranties, resolve disputes, and satisfy tax, insurance, and licensing requirements. For a period of approximately 7 years, though records may be stored longer. After that, we delete or de-identify them.

How we protect your information

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect the information we hold, including access controls on our scheduling and payment systems and limits on which employees can see customer records.

No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee that information sent to us over the internet is completely safe. Please do not send sensitive information such as full account numbers by email or text.

If a breach of unencrypted personal information affects Alabama residents, we will provide notice as required by the Alabama Data Breach Notification Act. If a breach affects residents of other states, we will follow that state’s notification law as well.

Your choices

Regardless of where you live, you can:

  • Ask what we have. Call or write and we will tell you what customer information we hold about you.
  • Correct it. Tell us about anything inaccurate and we will fix it.
  • Ask us to delete it. We will delete what we are not required to keep for tax, warranty, insurance, or legal reasons, and we will tell you what we kept and why.
  • Stop marketing. Reply STOP to a text, use the unsubscribe link in an email, or call us.
  • Remove stored access codes. Call us and we will delete gate, alarm, and lockbox codes from our records.

To make a request, call (251) 536-GULL (4855) or write to the address below. We may need to verify your identity and your connection to the service address before we act, especially where access credentials are involved.

State privacy rights

Several states give residents specific rights over their personal data. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to confirm whether we process your data, access it, correct it, delete it, obtain a portable copy, and opt out of targeted advertising, the sale of personal data, or certain profiling. Some states also let you appeal a denied request.

We do not sell personal data and we do not use it for cross-context behavioral advertising

Alabama residents. The Alabama Personal Data Protection Act takes effect May 1, 2027. We will honor requests from Alabama residents consistent with that law once it is in force.

California residents. If the California Consumer Privacy Act applies to us, you also have the right not to be discriminated against for exercising your rights, and you may use an authorized agent to submit a request.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the information below. We will respond within the time your state’s law requires, generally 45 days, and will tell you if we need an extension. We will not charge you for a reasonable request or treat you differently for making one.

Children

Our website and services are for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, call us and we will delete it.

Visitors from outside Alabama and outside the United States

Many of our customers own property here but live somewhere else. We are a United States company and we store and process information in the United States. If you contact us from outside the U.S., you are sending your information to the U.S., where privacy laws may differ from those where you live.

Links to other sites

Our site links to third-party services, including our online booking platform and mapping tools. We are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices. Read their policies before giving them information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top. If the change is significant, we will post a notice on the site. Material changes take effect when posted.
